I created my own Google Forest. Sometimes while online, being bombarded and overwhelmed with so much interesting information, I’m loosing sight. I’m getting sidetracked for hours from what I was originally looking for. Just like in a dense forest, I am virtually getting lost.
The appropriation of digital images in art is a phenomenon new to the twentieth century. Found objects, contemporary images, and images from the past have all been appropriated by artists and used in their work before. I am interested in this idea while embracing the use of contemporary technologies like the Internet. It is as an exploration of existing images, with an attempt to create something new from it.
